If you are reading this on June 8th, then that means the new Blitzen Trapper album, Destroyer of the Void, is officially RELEASED. You can stream the whole thing via the player to the right, and there are links to buy it over there as well. Marty wanted me to pass on some words to mark the occasion, and here they are:
Hey everybody, our new record comes out today! Hopefully you already got a chance to hear it on npr.com or in concert or something, folks have been sharing around the good word and we’re having a lot of fun playing these jams for people on the road lately so if you can get out to see it live this summer let’s do it up!
But even if you can’t see us play you can still dig the record and search for performances on youtube or whatever, it’s called Destroyer of the Void and it’s twelve songs and our friends at Sub Pop have garbed it in a handsome package that our friend Lili drew some creatures for, the seer of the herds on the front of it and a winged skull on back.
Writing this from Omaha, Nebraska where I once saw a (prairie?) tarantula scurrying over lawn and sidewalk. The club we’re playing is on the site of an old chemical factory, an earsplitting train still goes by every 20 minutes or so. All the way down here from Fargo earlier we saw them recycling old freeways into fresh road. Our tourmates Moondoggies going for it downstairs, really good, going around the country together now, God I love America.
So there you have it. We hope you all enjoy the record, and please feel free to share your thoughts on the forum.
Keep ruling out there!
Matt
PS: This new blog you’re reading is powered by Tumblr, so if you like you can follow us there. You can also subscribe to this handy RSS feed. Nice ‘n’ nerdy!
