During our first song of the set at the Firebird I drove my golden chariot too close to the sun; paid the price of sloppy drum fill hubris and did this to my finger. Also started a Jackson Pollock piece on my snare drum.

Slugging along the Kansan Plain and entered this field of lightning and pre-tornadic rain swells. Toto! No!

Walking SLC’s eschatologically wide streets we bore witness to this…um…double…whatever. Actually, never-mind.

So it begins. The long road east along the snaking gorge before turning south toward the Wasatch. Tomorrow, SLC’s temple pronged horizon.

Ingredients:

• 1 Bare stage at Olympia’s Capitol Theater
• 2 Two vocal mics
• 2 Two guitar mics
• 1 Gillian Welch w/guitar
• 1 Dave Rawlings w/guitar

Directions:

Combine Gillian, Dave and a mess of songs (old and new) with a folk hungry audience for 120 mins. Stir and enjoy!
