New song: Love the Way You Walk Away

GrangerLang 8/9/11

In case you haven't seen it on facebook or Twitter (or just want a post to talk about it), the Trappers dropped a new tune from American Goldwing here: http://drownedinsound.com/news/4143297-listen--download-blitzen-trapper-love-the-way-you-walk-away?ticker

I lost track of how many times I've hit 'play' on this in the last 2 hours.  Mega-dig.

I remember that one from Chicago. Really pretty. Its a good start. I cant wait to hear the rest.

Beautiful country twang with just enough of that sci-fi trapper sound I love.

Of the three I have heard thus far, the tracks on this album (much like it's namesake) seem well-steeped in the musk of the 70's.

Ride on BT!

Lyrics - I think I've got the lyrics pretty close, I should probably drop all of the g's at the end of the words but oh well. Very Dylanesque perhaps its Bt's shorter "Tangled Up In Blue"

Love The Way You Walk Away

I’ve been feeling in the way , kind of underfoot on a Saturday

The sun it don’t mean to hurt I guess, but the bright light’s harsh when you’re trying to rest

I know you’ve been working some overtime, in your grand dad’s kitchen trying to make a dime

The old joke stands cause its true I guess that when you find what you’re looking for you want it less

Cause Baby I’m on the make in my old sport coat and my head it aches

I’m drinking too much tonight and it ain’t right

And a brand new coat of paint, on this broke down palace couldn’t compensate,

For the things I never really said to make you stay, cause I love it when you walk away.

I spent the night the in an old sedan It was parked by the river where the old trees stand

Tryto find a station on that radio, searching hard for a song that I just don’t know

Some kind of person only different than me, but all I heard was the stars as they spoke to me

An ancient tongue speaking loud and true telling me all the ways that I’m losing you

Cause Baby I’m on the make in my old sport coat and my head it aches

I’m letting you down tonight, and it ain’t right

And a brand new coat of paint, on this broke down palace couldn’t compensate.

For the things I never really said to make you stay, cause I love it when you walk away

hey hey

 hey hey hey

 yeah

hey hey hey

yeah

I’ve been feeling hard to get, like a dog hiding out underneath the step

Burning this bridge cause I need the light, for to see my way through the coming night

I guess I thought you’d always just play the game, come a walking on back down the same old lane

But the grass grows high all around your door it’s a sign or symbol for the things in store

Cause Baby I’m on the make in my old sport coat and my head it aches

I’m drinking too much tonight and it ain’t right

And a brand new coat of paint, on this broke down palace couldn’t compensate.

For the things I never really said to make you stay, cause I love it when you walk away.

Oh, this is fantastic. Between this and the title-track, American Goldwing is quickly becoming my most anticipated album of the fall. Thanks for the sneak-peek.

And, on a completely diffrent note, I just stumbled upon "All The Stones" from the Patagonia Music comp. 2011 is apparently a good year to be a BT fan.
